“people who feel the need to converse with AI would fare much better just keeping a journal. the spirits one encounters in the page through the pen are much more intelligent, and not diabolic, the opposite of the machine ones.
The message is profoundly important. I must say though that diabolical spirits can be encountered in the page, but there is also the possibilities of true, inspired creation. Dangerous and exciting, the way it should be.
“nondual awareness, or as i like to call it, tunnel vision”
thank you :) and yes, one encounters no shortage of devils on the page. but at least they are ours, and those we must personally battle to grow. this is the opposite of the machine ones, who are for everybody and nobody (same thing), the lowest common denominator.
Berdyayev said Dostoevsky justified all of Russian civilization so maybe that's why they're still tottering alongside the cliff edge and not in freefall like the West.
i find Dostoevsky a bit overrated. but they have other, especially musical, geniuses that quite justify their existence. in any case, i don't have much hope for Russia either. the news of their resistance seem to me to be nothing more than wishful thinking, or maybe propaganda.
I've some slovak blood in me, and I have wondered if that's why D. resonated with me. Because there is also a part that finds the emotions in his work to be very overdone, which might come from my dutch side.
i find him overrated because i think he shouldn't have been a novelist. his dialogues are great. his narration is terrible and boring. he should have written plays. but maybe it's because i have no slavic blood whatsoever.
These are gold. I have two favorites: There's cringe... and there's western buddhist. I knew some buddhists a while ago, they proved to be the worst people I've known. The other fav is Secret teachings of childish p. hall monitor. While living in L.A. down the street from me was Manly Hall's teaching center, his work is unreadable
I would have called the west a zombie. But I suppose if there is an animated corpse there must have been a ghost that the body belonged with, when living.
Brilliant
thank you :)
I have to reiterate how golden this is…

Another gem for the best-of collection.

Personal devils we must battle to grow... Yes! Be grateful for them.
